What is the MCDCC?

The Montgomery County Democratic Central Committee is a group of 26 volunteer members elected to 4-year terms or appointed mid-term to fill a vacancy, representing the 9 state legislative districts within the county and the county at large.

The MCDCC is responsible for leading and organizing the day-to-day operations of the local Democratic Party, as well as nominating replacements to the state legislature if an elected Democratic member from the county leaves office before the completion of their term.

Central Committee members attend monthly MCDCC meetings and quarterly meetings of the state Central Committee. Members are responsible for planning, leading, and participating in Democratic Party activities, including fundraising, outreach, community service, voter registration, voter education during elections, and serving at the polls.
